Shaun Pollock is a former South African international cricketer and captain. The ICC records more than 800 international wickets and over 7,000 international runs across a career from 1995 to 2008. He received the Order of Ikhamanga in Silver in 2008. [1][2]

Biography

Pollock was born on 16 July 1973 and made his international debut for South Africa in 1995. The ICC Hall of Fame records a career of 411 international matches through 2008. [1]

As an all-rounder, Pollock combined fast-medium bowling with lower-order batting. The ICC records 421 Test wickets, 393 ODI wickets and 15 T20I wickets, alongside more than 7,000 international runs. [1]

South African government records list Pollock among the 2008 recipients of the Order of Ikhamanga in Silver for his contribution to cricket and his role as an inspiration to the national side. He was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2021. [2][1]
